Multi-Party Monopoly

The government, even begrudging the media a mere 3-5% share for 'telling the truth,' imposes penalties while continually emphasizing their goal:

Creating a multi-channel, single-voice system!

However, their ultimate goal lies within politics: establishing a multi-party, one-man regime.

The idea is for each segment of society to have parties they feel close to, who can vote without hindering the ruling AKP's (the Justice and Development Party) undisputed dominance. But ultimately, the country would be controlled solely by the leader and his team.

This might seem far-fetched, but many authoritarian regimes follow this model. No need to look further than Syria, where President Assad's National Front comprises nearly ten parties, with others existing outside this coalition. These parties can conduct any activity, under one condition:

Do not oppose Assad's rule!

Upon his return from Germany, President Erdoğan's call to eliminate the "50% + 1" requirement for presidential elections has one sole purpose:

To implement whatever method necessary to stay in power!

Previously, they couldn't stop praising the benefits of the "50% + 1" system:

-The president-elect will have the widest societal support.

-It will strengthen stability.

-It will ensure swift progress in state affairs! And so much more. They left no stone unturned in criticizing those who opposed this:

-These opponents lack confidence in the people.

-They fear the end of the regime of coups and guardianship. Now, all that has changed to:

-The "50% plus one" requirement leads to wrong paths...

-It prolongs the process.

So, what should be done? Change the "50% + 1" rule. Two possibilities have been rumored behind the scenes:

1- Make it "40% + 1"

2- Let the candidate with the most votes win. Whichever option prevails, there are two scenarios:

1- Add this change to a "mini package" with a few other items no one, including the opposition, can object to.

2- Focus solely on this amendment.

The first option seems more likely.

Of course, it goes without saying, the amendment will be designed to enable Erdoğan's re-election or be interpretable to allow it!

They've turned the Constitution into something akin to the Public Procurement Law, leaving no part unexplored. The most audacious part is how they act as if another administration made these changes, and they are merely correcting those mistakes!

They couldn't praise the "50% + 1" rule enough, and now they can't discard it quickly enough.

Almost a third of the presidential decrees are to "correct" the previous one!

Just imagine this mindset drafting a constitution!

The AKP's 130 and MHP's 100-article draft portable constitutions are waiting in the wings. If they wish to deepen and prolong the discussion, they might bring these drafts into play.

For them, laws and constitutional articles are just the "active ingredients" to keep their regime afloat. They mix and match these as needed.

To us, the most effective ingredient would be:

- Only those who have served as president at least twice before can run in the new election! Those who don't meet this criteria cannot be candidates!

Don't mock our intelligence... You've turned the Constitution into a farce!
