Pakistan accuses Iran of airspace violation, leading to deaths of two children

Pakistan's foreign office spokesperson, in a statement released early Wednesday, warned of "serious consequences," labeling the incident as "completely unacceptable."

As of now, Iran’s foreign ministry has not provided any comments on the matter.

This development follows attacks on Monday by Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, who targeted locations in Iraq and Syria with missiles. Jaish al Adl has been known to launch attacks against Iranian security forces near the Pakistan border. Iranian state media reported that these bases were destroyed by missiles and drones, without providing further details.

Nournews, an outlet affiliated with Iran's top security body, identified the targeted bases as being in Pakistan's Balochistan province.

In its statement, Pakistan did not specify the incident's location or the nature of the airspace violation but mentioned that it had protested with Tehran. The head of the Iranian mission in Islamabad was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "The responsibility for the consequences will lie squarely with Iran," the statement noted, emphasizing that the incident occurred despite several communication channels between Pakistan and Iran.

The Pakistani military's public relations wing has not yet responded to requests for comments on the incident.
