Meloni and Erdoğan strengthen ties at NATO summit
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed strengthening bilateral coordination within the Atlantic Alliance, particularly on the southern flank, and bilateral relations with AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during their meeting at the NATO Summit.

In a written statement, the Italian Prime Minister's Office reported that Prime Minister Meloni met with President Erdoğan during the NATO Summit in Washington.
The statement read:
"The meeting allowed the two leaders to review the main topics of the summit, with a focus on strengthening bilateral coordination within the Atlantic Alliance, particularly concerning the southern flank. They also discussed the most current issues in the international context. The meeting centered on the shared desire to further develop cooperation in bilateral political, economic, and commercial relations, as well as on migration issues."
