Houthis in Yemen announce formation of new government
The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have announced the formation of a new government, consisting of 22 ministers, under the leadership of Ahmed Galib al-Rahwi.

According to the Houthi-affiliated SABA news agency, the head of the Houthis' Supreme Political Council, Mehdi al-Mashat, has tasked Ahmed Galib al-Rahwi with forming a "government of change and reconstruction," replacing the so-called Yemeni Prime Minister Abdulaziz Habtur.
22-Minister Cabinet Formed
The report stated that the decision to establish a new government was made "in light of the current conditions and the supreme national interests." The newly formed cabinet includes 22 members.
Since September 2014, the Iran-backed Houthis have controlled the capital, Sana'a, and several other regions in Yemen. A Saudi-led coalition has been supporting the Yemeni government against the Houthis since March 2015.
