Armenia fires on Azerbaijani positions amid escalating tensions
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that Armenian forces fired on Azerbaijani positions in the village of Yellija, Kelbajar district. This incident follows remarks by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to France 24, accusing Azerbaijan of preparing to attack Armenia.

The ministry stated that Armenian positions in the village of Yukhari Shorja, Basargechar district, targeted Azerbaijani positions in Yellija. In response, Azerbaijani forces did not retaliate, aiming to prevent escalation and maintain stability at the border. The statement called on Armenia's military leadership to refrain from actions that could destabilize the region and demanded the identification and punishment of those responsible for the provocation.
Accusations Against Azerbaijan
Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry responded to Pashinyan's interview with France 24, where he levied unfounded accusations against Azerbaijan, aiming to intentionally escalate tensions and undermine the peace process.
The ministry criticized the choice of France for these statements, interpreting it as a disregard for Germany's efforts and an indicator of France's continued negative impact on the peace process.
Pashinyan had claimed that Azerbaijan was preparing for an attack against Armenia, accusing it of violating international law norms, distorting facts, and deceiving the international community.
