In addition to this global accolade, the airport also earned the title of "Europe's Best Airport," reinforcing its status as a frontrunner in the aviation industry, the magazine reported on Monday.
iGA Istanbul Airport received further recognition with awards for "Best Food and Beverage Area," "Best Airport Shopping Experience," and "Best Duty-Free Shopping Experience in Europe."
Global Traveler's readership, consisting of approximately 500,000 monthly readers, cast their votes based on personal experiences with various travel-related services, destinations, hotels, airlines, and cruise trips.
Research indicates that the magazine's average reader embarks on 18 domestic flights annually, with 96% traveling internationally on a regular basis. Additionally, more than 80% of these travelers frequently opt for stays in 4- and 5-star hotels, averaging over 80 days per year.
At this year's eleventh "Leisure Lifestyle Awards" by Global Traveler, iGA Istanbul Airport was named "Best Transfer Airport" for the second consecutive time. Additionally, at the "Wherever Awards," the airport was acclaimed as the "Best Family-Friendly International Airport" once again.
