Apple's "important safety information" documents offer further guidance, explicitly advising against sleeping on or sitting on the charging cable and connector.

The company explains that while iPhones and Apple USB power adapters comply with surface temperature regulations, prolonged contact with warm surfaces can still lead to discomfort or injury.
