Three Turkish titans vying for NBA Star's signature
National player Furkan Korkmaz, released by the NBA's Indiana Pacers, has reportedly drawn interest from three Turkish Basketball Super League clubs.
Fenerbahçe Beko, Beşiktaş Emlakjet, and Anadolu Efes have made moves for Furkan Korkmaz following his release from the Indiana Pacers.
Korkmaz, traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Pacers in the final days of the NBA trade season and released before suiting up, was first rumored to be in talks with Fenerbahçe Beko.
FENERBAHÇE AND BEŞİKTAŞ STEP IN
With the THY EuroLeague transfer window closed, Korkmaz, if signed, would only play in the domestic league this season. Fenerbahçe is reportedly offering him a long-term contract.
After discussions with Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş Emlakjet reportedly entered the fray. Following a call from branch manager Umut Tahir Güneş, Korkmaz is said to have also sat down with Beşiktaş.
HIS FORMER TEAM ALSO ENTERS THE PICTURE
Anadolu Efes, Korkmaz's former team, has also reportedly held talks with the national player, although this possibility seems less likely.
The 26-year-old shooting guard, with a 6-year NBA career spanning 328 games, has averaged 6.8 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists with a 35.6% three-point shooting percentage.
