Hasan Arat elected as Besiktas's new president
Hasan Arat has been elected as the new president of Besiktas, one of Istanbul's most prominent football clubs. The election took place during an extraordinary general assembly on Sunday.

Arat, a 64-year-old businessman, won the presidency with 7,271 votes, significantly outpacing his closest competitor, Serdal Adali, by 2,714 votes.
The election, held at the BJK Emlakjet Sports Complex in Istanbul, marked a pivotal moment for the club. With all votes counted, Adali garnered 38.53% of the total votes. Arat's victory has ushered in a new era for Besiktas, with him becoming the 35th president of the club.
