Daniel Wiffen wins gold with Olympic Record
Irish swimmer Daniel Wiffen set a new Olympic record and won the gold medal in the men's 800-meter freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The record-breaking swim took place at La Defense Arena in Paris.
Wiffen clinched the gold medal with a time of 7 minutes, 38.19 seconds, setting a new Olympic record.
The previous record, set at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by Ukrainian swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk, was 7 minutes, 41.28 seconds.
American swimmer Bobby Finke won the silver medal with a time of 7 minutes, 38.75 seconds, while Italian swimmer Gregorio Paltrinieri secured the bronze medal with a time of 7 minutes, 39.38 seconds.
Notably, all three medalists surpassed the previous Olympic record set at Tokyo 2020.
