Jeff Bezos reclaims title as world's richest person
Jeff Bezos, the owner of companies like Amazon and Blue Origin, has reclaimed his title as the world's wealthiest individual, surpassing Elon Musk. This marks another shift in the rankings of the world's richest, with Bezos and Musk frequently competing across various sectors.

Bezos had lost the title of the world's richest person in 2021 and had not regained the top spot until now. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos's net worth reached $200 billion as of Monday, March 4, surpassing Elon Musk, who was at approximately $198 billion. Bernard Arnault holds the third spot with a fortune of $197 billion.
Bezos's primary source of wealth is Amazon and its subsidiaries, although it's reported that his space venture, Blue Origin, does not contribute significantly to his earnings. Additionally, Bezos made headlines in previous years for purchasing The Washington Post for $250 million in a controversial move.
It's worth noting that Jeff Bezos recently sold a portion of his Amazon shares. While Elon Musk experienced a loss of about $31 billion last year, Bezos's losses were around $23 billion.
