Turkish stock market opens higher, BIST 100 gains
The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, started Thursday up by 0.21%, or 17.8 points, opening at 8,514.47 points compared to the previous close.
At Wednesday's close, the BIST 100 index had climbed 0.26% to reach its highest level since October 2023, marking 8,496.66 points with a trading volume of 99 billion liras ($3.27 billion).
The exchange rates as of 10:00 a.m. (GMT+0700) were 30.3670 for USD/TRY, 32.8610 for EUR/TRY, and 38.4485 for GBP/TRY. The price for an ounce of gold stood at $2,060.50, and Brent oil was priced around $80.60 per barrel.
