Turkish stock exchange begins Tuesday with positive momentum
Turkey's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, started Tuesday on a strong note, opening at 8,512.55 points.
This marked an increase of 0.48%, or 40.85 points, from its previous closing at 8,471.70 points on Monday. The index experienced a 1.50% rise on Monday, closing the day with a trading volume of 115 billion Turkish liras (approximately $3.78 billion).
In the currency markets as of 9:50 a.m. local time (0650 GMT), the U.S. dollar was trading at 30.3605 against the Turkish lira, while the euro was at 32.8677 liras. The British pound was valued at 38.5500 liras.
In the commodities market, Brent crude oil was trading around $82.12 per barrel. Meanwhile, gold prices stood at $2,051.90 per ounce, reflecting the global trends in these commodities.
