Turkish stock exchange opens higher on Wednesday
Turkey's benchmark stock index started Wednesday on a positive note, opening at 7,982.71 points. This marked a 0.41% increase, or a rise of 32.65 points, from Tuesday's close.

At the close of trading on Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index had fallen 0.75% to 7,950.06 points, with a daily trading volume of 91 billion liras (about $3 billion).
As of 10:10 a.m. local time (0710GMT), the US dollar was trading at 30.2890 against the Turkish lira. The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.9477, while the British pound was trading at 38.5005 liras.
In the commodities market, Brent crude oil was priced at approximately $79.59 per barrel. Meanwhile, gold was trading at $2,028.10 an ounce.
