Stock market opens with gains

The BIST 100, Turkey’s benchmark stock index, opened Tuesday at 8,115.99 points, a slight increase of 0.11%, or 8.8 points, from its previous close.
On Monday, the index closed at 8,107.19 points, up 1.85%, with a trading volume of 101 billion Turkish liras ($3.49 billion) at Borsa Istanbul.
As of 10:05 a.m. local time, the U.S. dollar to Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9320. The euro was trading at 31.6830 against the lira, and the British pound was valued at 36.5240 liras.
Brent crude oil was trading at approximately $80.10 per barrel. The price for an ounce of gold stood at $2,016.60.
