Mehmet Şimşek at the G20: Declaration focused on tax cooperation issued
Mehmet Şimşek, Turkiye's Minister of Treasury and Finance, discussed the global economy, tax policies, and the Stability and Reform Program at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting in Brazil.
Sharing details on his social media account, Şimşek elaborated on the topics addressed during the G20 meeting in Brazil, including the global economy, tax policies, and the Stability and Reform Program.
Şimşek stated:
"During the meetings, it was agreed that progressive taxation reduces income and wealth inequality, strengthens fiscal discipline, and supports tax fairness and inclusive growth. For the first time in G20 history, a declaration focused on tax cooperation was issued.
As challenges in the global economy persist and low productivity continues to limit global growth, preparation for technologies like artificial intelligence is of great importance. Our program aims to strengthen macroeconomic stability and, through structural reforms, make our gains permanent, thereby increasing our growth potential."
