US-Israeli attacks target two piers in Strait of Hormuz
US and Israeli forces targeted two piers in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported Wednesday.
"Warplanes belonging to the US and Israel targeted the Doha fishing pier on Qeshm Island and the fishing and commercial pier in Bandar-e Charak," said Ahmad Nafisi, the deputy governor of Hormozgan province.
Two people were injured on Qeshm Island and three in Bandar-e Charak, according to initial assessments.
Search and rescue teams dispatched to the locations are continuing their operations, said Nafisi.
Nafisi said on March 31 that the Bahman Pier on Qeshm Island had been struck.
He noted that a salt desalination facility on the island had been targeted in the early days of the war.
He added that an attack had been carried out on Shahid Haghani Port in the city of Bandar Abbas in a statement issued Tuesday.
