Ukraine downs 26 Russian drones in overnight strike
Kyiv's military announced on Thursday that Ukrainian forces had successfully intercepted and destroyed 26 out of 28 attack drones launched by Russia overnight. According to the air force, the Iranian-manufactured drones were neutralized over various regions in eastern, southern, and southeastern Ukraine.

The governor of Zaporizhzhia region revealed on Telegram that two women sustained injuries when debris from the drones struck a residential area in the regional capital. Additionally, prosecutors in the eastern Kharkiv region reported damage to a restaurant, a store, and offices caused by debris from three of the downed drones.
In a comprehensive attack, Russia deployed various missile types overnight. The southern command of the military, as reported on Telegram, stated that missiles launched from aircraft over the Black Sea had been rendered ineffective.
Oleh Kiper, the governor of Odesa region, mentioned a separate missile strike by Russia later in the morning but stated that no injuries had been reported, without specifying the target.
Russia's consistent air strikes on civilian areas, extending far beyond the front lines of its ongoing invasion of Ukraine, continue to escalate tensions.
