Protesters rally outside UN in New York to raise voices about Gaza
Pro-Palestinian protesters gathered Tuesday outside the UN headquarters in New York City to raise their voices about Israel's war in the Gaza Strip.
Waving Palestinian flags, demonstrators banged pots and pans to protest Israel's starvation campaign in Gaza.
They also drew attention to Israel’s killing of journalists, with the latest being Al Jazeera Arabic’s Gaza correspondents Anas al-Sharif, Mohammed Qreiqeh and three others.
The protesters held signs that read: "Stop extermination", "No Peace On Stolen Land", "You Cannot Coverup Genocide", “Israel Is Murdering All The Journalists To Kill The Truth" and "Bread not bombs, let the children eat!"
The New York City Police Department arrested multiple protesters.
Gaza's Media Office said the death toll for journalists has risen to 238 since the start of Israel's war on Gaza in late 2023.
Israel is facing mounting condemnation for its genocidal war on Gaza, where it has killed nearly 61,600 victims since October 2023.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
