Maduro accepts Musk’s challenge: ‘ We will settle this’
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has accepted American billionaire Elon Musk’s duel invitation, stating that he is ready to settle their differences.
In a statement to the press in the capital Caracas, Maduro confirmed his acceptance of Musk’s duel invitation.
Maduro invited Musk to the country, saying, "I accept your duel invitation. Elon Musk, we will settle this. But come here, to the Poliedro (a venue in Caracas), just you and me. If I beat you, I will accept your Mars trip offer, but you must come with me."
Declaring Musk an 'Arch-Enemy'
President Nicolas Maduro recently secured his third presidential term in the elections held in Venezuela on July 28.
Elon Musk had alleged that the election was rigged.
Reacting to Musk’s accusations, Maduro said, "Do you want a fight, Elon Musk? I am ready. I am a son of Bolivar, a son of Chavez, and I am not afraid of you."
Maduro had declared Musk an arch-enemy of Venezuela, accusing him of inciting violence in the country.
In response, Musk stated that if he won the duel, he would demand Maduro resign from his dictatorship and promised to send him to Mars for free via his company, SpaceX.
Additionally, Maduro, in a speech from the balcony of Miraflores Palace after his election victory, claimed he was confident that Musk was behind a hacker attack on the National Election Council.
