Israeli forces used phosphorus shells in southern Lebanon, reports Lebanese media

Heavy Israeli artillery shelling targeted the town of Mansouri, the vicinity of Bayt al-Sayyad and the outskirts of Majdal Zoun early Saturday, according to National News Agency (NNA).

Israeli forces also carried out extensive explosions overnight in Mansouri, Majdal Zoun and Bayt al-Sayyad, the agency said.

NNA reported that homes in Bayt al-Sayyad had been extensively destroyed, saying that no house in the town had been left undamaged.

Similar explosions were reported in the towns of Hadatha, Beit Yahoun and Aita al-Jabal, while machine-gun fire was also directed toward nearby valleys.

Israeli drones also continued to fly over villages and towns in the western and central sectors of southern Lebanon, the agency added.

Separately, Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes at around 6.45 am local time (0345GMT) on Ali al-Taher hill on the northern outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, NNA reported.

Israeli artillery also heavily shelled the outskirts of Dawhat Kfar Remman, the vicinity of Dabsha hill and the wooded area of Ali al-Taher overnight until early Saturday, using phosphorus shells, according to the agency.
