Israel launches drone strike on vehicle in southern Lebanon

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that a vehicle traveling between the towns of Barish and Maaroub in the Tyre district was struck by an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

No further details were provided regarding casualties or damage.

The strike comes amid repeated Israeli violations of a ceasefire deal reached with Lebanon in November 2024. Israel has said it continues to target Hezbollah infrastructure.

The ceasefire violations have killed and wounded hundreds of Lebanese, while Israel continues to occupy five Lebanese hilltops seized during the latest war, in addition to other Lebanese areas it has held for decades.

Israel began military operations against Lebanon in October 2023 that escalated into a full-scale war in September 2024, killing more than 4,000 victims and wounding 17,000 others.
