Iraqi group claims 8 attacks on US bases in last 24 hours
Iraqi factions reportedly carried out eight attacks on US bases in Iraq in the last 24 hours, the group known as the Islamic Resistance said in a statement early Saturday.
It said armed factions conducted the operations, using drones and missiles to target US bases in Iraq and the surrounding region.
The statement did not provide details.
Regional tensions have surged since the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on Feb. 28. The strikes have so far killed at least 1,300 people in Iran, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has responded with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
