Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene praise Mamdani NYC mayoral campaign

“That guy was the only person in the New York City mayor’s debate to say he wanted to focus on New York City. They were, all the candidates were asked:
‘If you could visit a foreign country, what would it be?’ And they all, of course, all had an answer. I think most said Israel,” Carlson said Friday on “The Tucker Carlson Show.”

“And he said, ‘I wouldn’t go anywhere. I’d stay in New York. And like, if I want to meet Jewish constituents, I go to their synagogues, their homes or whatever, but I’d be here in New York because that’s what I’m doing. I’m running New York. That’s my job,” Carlson added about Mamdani’s performance in a mayoral debate earlier this month.

Greene agreed that Mamdani “gave the right answer,” despite later stating that she disagrees with his proposed policies for free buses, free child care and a rent freeze in the city, to which Carlson also agreed.

“I totally oppose his program,” Carlson said. “I don’t think it works, but he’s talking about economics and everyone else is talking about foreign policy. Why is it hard to talk about economics, domestic economics?”

Mamdani wins Democratic primary

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo conceded the race late Tuesday, positioning front-runner Zohran Mamdani to become the city's first Muslim mayor.

"Tonight, we made history," Mamdani told supporters after Cuomo's concession. "We have won because New Yorkers have stood up for a city they can afford, a city where they can do more than just struggle, where those who toil in the night can enjoy the fruits of their labor in the day, where hard work is repaid with a stable life."

Mamdani said if he secures the mayorship, he will use the powerful office "to reject Donald Trump's fascism" and will seek to "govern our city as a model for the Democratic party, a party where we fight for working people with no apology."

Trump called Mamdani a “100% Communist Lunatic,” in response.

“It’s finally happened, the Democrats have crossed the line. Zohran Mamdani, a 100% Communist Lunatic, has just won the Dem Primary, and is on his way to becoming Mayor. We’ve had Radical Lefties before, but this is getting a little ridiculous. He looks TERRIBLE, his voice is grating, he’s not very smart," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
