Bomb threat targets Norway's parliament, officials increase security
Norway's parliament, the Storting, received a bomb threat on Wednesday, leading to heightened security measures around the premises, officials reported.
The threat, which was disseminated via social media, prompted an immediate response from the police, who have deployed additional security at the scene.
According to the Norwegian daily VG, police are on site with enhanced security protocols. Gabriel Langfeldt, a spokesperson for the police department, assured the public that there is "no information suggesting a threat to third parties," and there have been no reports of injuries.
Pål Munck, the head of security for the Storting, confirmed that the bomb threat was made through social media channels. The police were alerted to the threat at 9:48 a.m. local time (0748GMT), VG noted.
