Turkey begins evacuation of citizens from Gaza to Egypt

Following the outbreak of conflict in Gaza, Turkey successfully repatriated 30 of its citizens along with their relatives. However, the closure of the Rafah border temporarily suspended these operations.

Keceli stated that efforts to evacuate Turkish nationals, as well as citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and their relatives, have been underway for some time. "On November 18, a group of 44 individuals crossed the Rafah border into Egypt. We anticipate more evacuations as the day progresses," he added.

Upon arrival at the border, Turkish diplomats are meeting the evacuees to facilitate their transfer to Cairo, from where they will be flown back to Turkey.

In addition to these efforts, Turkey is also engaging in diplomatic initiatives to transport a group of Palestinians for medical treatment, coordinated through its Foreign Ministry and other relevant agencies.
