Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu Updates His X Account

After 13 years of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's leadership, the 38th Ordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party (CHP) marked a significant change. Özgür Özel, elected as the new chairman, succeeded Kılıçdaroğlu. At this historic event, which coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Republic and the party, 1367 congress delegates from all 81 provinces made their decision.

Özgür Özel's election makes him the 8th chairman of the CHP, following the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, İsmet İnönü, Bülent Ecevit, Deniz Baykal, Hikmet Çetin, Altan Öymen, and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

During the second round of the election, Ekrem İmamoğlu, the chairman of the council, took the floor and officially announced Özgür Özel as the new CHP chairman, receiving 812 votes. Kılıçdaroğlu, after 13 years of leadership, received 536 votes.

Amid this transition, Kılıçdaroğlu took the opportunity to update his biography on the social media platform X (Twitter). Notably, he made a correction, changing "Chairman of the Republican People's Party" to "7th Chairman of the Republican People's Party" in his account.
