Hafize Gaye Erkan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), answered questions from Ahmet Hakan, the Editor-in-Chief of Hürriyet, known for its closeness to the government.
Complaining about the high rents in Istanbul, Erkan said that rents in the city were too expensive, she couldn't find a house, and thus moved in with her mother.

We couldn't find a house in Istanbul. It's incredibly expensive. We settled in with my parents, staying with them."
