Tesla targets next year for Roadster shipments, Musk announces
Tesla plans to ship its Roadster electric sports car next year, CEO Elon Musk announced on Wednesday.
"Tonight, we've significantly raised the design goals for the new Tesla Roadster," Musk posted on X, noting that the final design of the Roadster will be revealed by year's end.
The company first unveiled the Roadster, a battery-powered four-seater, in late 2017, initially aiming for a 2020 launch. However, Musk deferred the Roadster's release to 2023 due to global supply chain issues. Now, in 2023, Musk states Tesla aims to begin production of the much-anticipated next-generation Roadster next year.
