Portugal defeated Czechia in extra time
Portugal pulled off a miraculous 2-1 comeback victory against the Czechia in their opening match of EURO 2024 Group F.

In the Group F opener, Portugal faced off against Czechia at Leipzig Stadium. The match ended with a 2-1 win for Portugal.
Czechia took the lead in the 62nd minute with a goal from Lukas Provod. Portugal equalized in the 69th minute when Robin Hranac scored an own goal. Portugal's Conceição netted another goal in the 92nd minute, securing a 2-1 victory.
PEPE BECOMES THE OLDEST PLAYER
Pepe, starting in the Czechia match at 41 years and 113 days old, became the oldest player to appear in the history of the European Championship.
After Turkiye’s victory over Georgia, our national team finished the first week as the group leader on goal difference.
On Saturday, 22th of June, Portugal will face Turkiye, while Czechia will play against Georgia.
