Kim Min-Jae ends Heung Min-Son's reign
Kim Min-Jae, who once played for Fenerbahçe and is now a defender for Bayern Munich, has been named "Player of the Year" in South Korea. With this achievement, Kim Min-Jae breaks the streak of Tottenham's star Heung Min-Son, who previously dominated this award.
Kim Min-Jae, the South Korean defender for Bayern Munich, surpassed his compatriot Heung Min-Son of Tottenham to be recognized as "Player of the Year" by South Korea's football federation.
Heung Min-Son has won this award for the last four years from the South Korean Football Federation.
In the current season, the accomplished defender, who previously played in Turkey's Süper Lig with Fenerbahçe, has appeared in 22 matches for Bayern Munich, scoring one goal.
The 27-year-old footballer transferred to the German team last summer from Napoli.
