Inter Milan clinches Italian Super Cup victory
Inter Milan secured a 1-0 win over a 10-player Napoli team to clinch their third consecutive Italian Super Cup (Supercoppa Italiana) in Saudi Arabia on Monday evening.
Lautaro Martinez, Inter's Argentine star, delivered the pivotal goal in the 91st minute. Capitalizing on Benjamin Pavard's low cross near the six-yard box, Martinez ensured the trophy's journey to his team.
Napoli's challenge intensified when they were reduced to 10 players at Riyadh's Al-Awwal Park. Giovanni Simeone received a red card in the 60th minute following a foul, adding to his earlier booking.
Under Simone Inzaghi's leadership, Inter Milan claimed their eighth Super Cup, further solidifying their place in the tournament's history. Juventus holds the record with nine victories.
