Melissa Vargas, the star of Turkey’s women’s volleyball team, made history in the thrilling 3-2 victory against the Netherlands. Vargas became the 12th player in Olympic history to score over 30 points in a single match.

A Thrilling Comeback
The Turkish National Women’s Volleyball Team faced the Netherlands in their first match at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Despite falling behind 2-0 in the breath-taking match, the Sultans of the Net managed to secure a 3-2 victory.
Melissa Vargas Shines
Melissa Vargas was the standout performer, scoring 30 points and leading the team to victory over the Netherlands.
Joining the Elite
With her 30-point performance, Vargas joined an elite group of only 12 players in Olympic history to surpass the 30-point mark in a single match.
In addition to Vargas, Eda Erdem and Hande Baladın each contributed 12 points, while Ebrar Karakurt added 10 points.
The Sultans of the Net will face the Dominican Republic in their second match of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on August 1 at 10:00 AM local time.
