Fenerbahce triumphs over Besiktas 3-1 in Super Lig derby
In a thrilling Trendyol Super Lig Week 15 derby on Saturday, Fenerbahce secured a decisive 3-1 victory over Besiktas at Tupras Stadium.

Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko set up Serbian teammate Dusan Tadic for the opening goal in the 10th minute, giving Fenerbahce an early lead. English midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leveled the score for Besiktas with a 24th-minute penalty kick.
Tadic, again on target, reclaimed the lead for Fenerbahce with his 63rd-minute penalty. A pivotal moment occurred in the 75th minute when Besiktas defender Tayfur Bingol's red card was downgraded to yellow after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.
Fenerbahce had a chance to extend their lead with another penalty, awarded by VAR, but Besiktas goalkeeper thwarted Tadic's 92nd-minute effort. Polish midfielder Sebastian Szymanski sealed the win for Fenerbahce with a stunning left-footed goal in the 96th minute.
This victory propels Fenerbahce to the top of the league standings with 40 points, edging out Galatasaray on goal difference. Besiktas holds the fourth spot with 26 points.
