Cenk Tosun describes his goal: 'The day before the match...'
As the Turkish National Football Team prepares to face Austria in the Round of 16 at EURO 2024, Cenk Tosun recounted his goal in the match against the Czech Republic. Tosun said, "I had envisioned the goal the day before the match. I planned it in my mind. I positioned myself consciously and sent the ball into the net with control."
Tosun, who entered the Czech match in the 75th minute and scored the winning goal in the 90+4 minute, shared his thoughts.
"I entered the last 15 minutes, but I could have played 150 minutes," he said.
The striker emphasized his thorough preparation for the match: "I had envisioned the goal the day before the match. I planned it in my mind. I positioned myself consciously and sent the ball into the net with control."
'I Give the Goals 10 Out of 10'
Cenk Tosun's comments were as follows:
"We were very well focused. It was a critical match. What motivated us the most were the fans who filled the stands and supported us non-stop. We never lost hope during the match. We conceded a goal but didn't let it affect us. The Czech Republic is not an easy opponent. They have the youngest squad in the tournament, they run a lot, play physically, and are very effective in aerial duels. Despite being down a man from the 20th minute, they challenged us for a long time."
"I give both my goal and Hakan's goal a 10 out of 10. We must also remember the beautiful assists from İsmail to Hakan and from Orkun to me. These goals cannot be described, only experienced. Every player on the field fought hard. Our substitutes on the bench were just as excited as those on the pitch. In the national team, both the players on the field and those on the bench give their all."
