Anadolu Efes beats Maccabi Tel Aviv in EuroLeague
Anadolu Efes triumphed over Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv with a score of 105-91 in Round 26 of the EuroLeague, hosted in Riga, Latvia, marking their 11th win in the competition.
Shane Larkin, leading the charge for the Istanbul-based team, scored 22 points and provided six assists, contributing to the team's consecutive victory. Teammate Rodrigue Beaubois also made a significant impact with 20 points at Arena Riga.
"Winning is what matters most. As the game neared its end, we focused on increasing our point differential in consultation with the bench," Larkin commented post-match, highlighting the strategic play. "This win is crucial for our direction, boosting our confidence and team unity," he further added.
Contributions also came from Ercan Osmani with 13 points and seven rebounds, and Tibor Pleiss, who added 12 points to the team's tally.
Efes coach Tomislav Mijatovic praised the team's spirit, saying, "The guys were exceptional once again. They demonstrated the resilient Efes character, battling for the full 40 minutes against a relentless opponent."
For Maccabi Playtika, Wade Baldwin IV led the scoring with 26 points, while Antonius Cleveland and Bonzie Colson each contributed 12 points.
Following this match, Efes is positioned 13th in the league, holding 11 wins and 15 losses. Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv stands at 10th, with a record of 13 wins and 13 losses.
In another EuroLeague fixture on Thursday, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan overcame Real Madrid 81-76. Shavon Shields starred for Armani Milan with 27 points, followed by Nikola Mirotic with 23 points. Despite Dzanan Musa scoring 12 points for Real Madrid, the Spanish team faced its fourth defeat, while Armani Milan celebrated their 11th victory.
