Turkiye exports 6.8 million dollars worth of chili peppers in the first half of the year

According to the information compiled by the AA correspondent from the data of the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Associations, in 2023, 12 million 226 thousand dollars worth of chili pepper was exported from Turkiye to 99 countries.

Exports of chili pepper, which was 5 million 441 thousand dollars in the January-June period of last year, increased by 26 percent to 6 million 878 thousand dollars in the same period of this year.

In the first half of this year, 1876 tons of chili peppers were sent to 83 countries, including Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, the USA, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Saudi Arabia, Canada, Qatar, Russia, Romania, Greece, the People's Republic of China, Brazil, Italy, Cuba and Spain.

Germany ranked first in chili pepper exports on a country basis with 1 million 210 thousand dollars. This country was followed by the USA with 964 thousand dollars, the UK with 781 thousand dollars, the Netherlands with 771 thousand dollars and Saudi Arabia with 542 thousand dollars.

Şanlıurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly Chairman İsa Kızıldemir told AA correspondent that the increasing export of chili pepper is pleasing for both producers and exporters.
