Turkish stock market opens higher on Thursday
The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, started Thursday's trading session with a gain, opening at 9,100.27 points, an increase of 0.42% or 37.91 points from the previous close.
The index had fallen by 1.28% to 9,062.36 points at the previous day's close, with a transaction volume of 131 billion Turkish liras ($4.21 billion).
In currency markets, the US dollar to Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 31.2250, the euro was at 33.9490, and the British pound reached 39.5510, as of 10:10 a.m. GMT. Meanwhile, gold was priced at $2,045.55 per ounce, and Brent oil was trading around $82 per barrel.
