Turkish stock exchange rises in opening session
Turkey's benchmark stock index began Tuesday on an upbeat note, opening at 7,860.16 points. This marks an increase of 0.53% or 41.27 points from the previous closing.
On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended the day at 7,818.89 points, up by 2.49%, and recorded a daily trading volume of 96 billion liras (approximately $3.2 billion).
At 10.15 a.m. local time (0715 GMT), the US dollar to Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.9420. The euro was trading at 32.8310 liras, and the British pound was worth 38.1550 Turkish liras.
In the commodities market, Brent crude oil was trading at around $76.30 per barrel, and gold was priced at $2,039.45 per ounce.
