Turkish stock exchange rises at week's opening
Turkey's benchmark stock index started the week on a positive note, opening at 7,996.66 points on Monday.
This marks a 0.13% increase, or 10.18 points, from the previous closing.
The Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index concluded last Friday at 7,986.47 points, registering a 1.15% rise, with a daily trading volume of 123 billion liras (approximately $4.08 billion).
As of 10.15 am local time (0715GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 30.1005. Meanwhile, the euro/lira exchange rate was 32.9435, and a British pound was trading at 38.3185 Turkish liras.
In the commodities market, Brent crude oil was priced at around $78.35 per barrel. The price of an ounce of gold was $2,059.20.
