Turkish stock exchange rises at open
The Turkish benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened Thursday at 8,142.06 points, marking a 0.63% increase, or a gain of 51.16 points from the previous close.
At the close of trading on Wednesday, the index had risen by 1.77% to 8,090.90 points, with a daily trading volume of 89 billion Turkish liras (approximately $2.95 billion).
As of 10:05 GMT, the US dollar to Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate stood at 30.2375, while the euro to Turkish lira (EUR/TRY) and the British pound to Turkish lira (GBP/TRY) rates were at 33.0510 and 38.5225, respectively.
Gold was priced at $2,014.85 per ounce. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil hovered around $80.30 per barrel.
