Turkish stock exchange opens lower
The BIST 100 index, Turkey’s benchmark stock index, opened lower on Tuesday, falling by 34.79 points or 0.36% to 9,645.01 points.
At the previous session’s close, the BIST 100 had dropped 1.37% to 9,679.80 points, with a transaction volume of 111 billion Turkish liras ($3.42 billion).
The currency exchange rates as of 10:05 a.m. (GMT+3) were as follows: the US dollar to Turkish lira (USD/TRY) stood at 32.4495, the euro to Turkish lira (EUR/TRY) at 34.4520, and the British pound to Turkish lira (GBP/TRY) at 40.3655.
In commodities, gold was priced at $2,373.80 per ounce, while Brent crude oil was trading around $90.75 per barrel.
