Turkish benchmark stock index opens flat

Turkey's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened Thursday at 8,007.99 points, a marginal decrease of 0.02% or 1.34 points from its previous close.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index concluded the midweek trading session at 8,009.33 points, declining by 1.04%. The day's trading volume reached 82 billion liras (approximately $2.84 billion).
As of 9:50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), the US dollar to Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9495. Concurrently, the euro was trading at 31.7800 liras, and the British pound was valued at 36.7785 liras.
In the commodities market, Brent crude oil was trading at around $83.20 per barrel. The price for an ounce of gold stood at $2,043.40.
