Turkish stock exchange opens flat on Thursday
Turkey's benchmark stock index started Thursday slightly higher at 7,421.86 points, a 0.13% or 9.82-point increase from the previous close.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed down 2.78% at 7,412.04 points, with a daily trading volume of 86 billion Turkish liras ($2.90 billion).
The U.S. dollar to Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 29.7855 as of 9:57 a.m. local time (0657GMT). The euro was trading at 32.6681 liras, and the British pound was at 37.7570 liras.
In the commodities market, Brent crude oil was priced at approximately $78.81 per barrel. The price of an ounce of gold was $2,054.60.
