Sales of iPad bring in almost $7.2B in April-June period; new June quarter revenue record stands at $85.8B
Apple posted record second-quarter sales, with strong gains for the iPad and services, according to its financial results statement released Thursday.
The US-based tech firm posted total net sales of almost $85.8 billion in its fiscal 2024 third quarter ended June 29, which corresponds to the April-June period of this year.
The figure is nearly a 5% increase from approximately $81.8 billion in the same period last year.
“Today Apple is reporting a new June quarter revenue record of $85.8 billion, up 5 percent from a year ago," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the statement.
"During the quarter, we were excited to announce incredible updates to our software platforms at our Worldwide Developers Conference, including Apple Intelligence, a breakthrough personal intelligence system that puts powerful, private generative AI models at the core of iPhone, iPad, and Mac," he added.
Net income, meanwhile, rose 7.5% to $21.4 billion from $19.9 billion during that period.
Net sales of the iPad brought in almost $7.2 billion in the April-June period, up 24% from nearly $5.8 billion in the same period last year.
Services' net sales came in at $24.2 billion, which rose 14% from $21.2 billion during that period.
