Turkish stock exchange flat at mid-week open
Benchmark index gains 1.17 points at opening session

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 6,606.21 points, up slightly by 0.02%, or 1.17 points, from Tuesday's close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 6,605.04 points, falling 1.35%, with a daily trading volume of 142 billion liras ($5.26 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9489 as of 9.57 a.m. local time (0657GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.8250, and a British pound traded for 34.7345 Turkish liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.89 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,971.15.
