Israel kills 2 Palestinians in strikes, gunfire in Gaza despite ceasefire
Israel killed two Palestinians and injured others Wednesday in an airstrike and gunfire in Jabalia town and refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip despite an ongoing ceasefire, according to local sources.
cumhuriyet.com.trWitnesses told Anadolu that Israeli forces opened fire toward tents housing displaced Palestinians in Jabalia town, while an Israeli drone struck a gathering of civilians in the Jabalia refugee camp.
A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital told Anadolu that the bodies of two Palestinians and several injured people were brought to the hospital following the Israeli strike and gunfire in Jabalia. The exact number of those injured was not immediately available.
Israel launched its genocide on Gaza on Oct. 8, 2023. The offensive continued for two years, causing widespread destruction, while Israeli violations have persisted despite a ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025.
Since the ceasefire took effect, Israeli violations have killed 1,326 Palestinians and wounded 4,398 others, while rescue teams have recovered hundreds of bodies from beneath the rubble, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, Israel’s genocide on Gaza since October 2023 had killed about 73,462 Palestinians and wounded 174,509 others, according to the ministry.
