Nuclear Statement from Russia: "The West Fuels the Risk"

Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, has asserted that the West's actions could provoke the use of nuclear weapons, labeling it a potential Western crime. Patrushev, a close confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin, accuses the United States and its allies of pursuing "destructive" policies that elevate the chances of deploying nuclear, chemical, or biological weaponry.

Speaking to TASS, a prominent Russian news agency, Patrushev expounded, "The natural consequence of the United States' destructive policies is the deterioration of global security. The risk of employing nuclear, chemical, and biological armaments is on the rise, leading to the erosion of the international arms control framework."

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, underscored that Patrushev's pronouncement is considered an official Kremlin statement. He clarified that Russia's nuclear doctrine remains unaltered, underscoring the overtly adversarial approach of the self-proclaimed "Western alliance" toward Russia, a stance that has received explicit confirmation from Western envoys. Regarding Russia's stance, Peskov affirmed, "Our country maintains its consistent doctrine, which is well-defined and remains unaltered. The Head of State has repeatedly reaffirmed this doctrine."
