Attack on synagogue and church in Russia, Dagestan: 6 policemen killed, 12 wounded
Six policemen were killed and 12 policemen were wounded in an attack on a synagogue and a church in Dagestan, Russia.
Unidentified gunmen organized an armed attack on a synagogue and a church on Sunday in Dagestan Autonomous Republic of Russia.
In the armed clash that broke out between the shooters and the police, 6 police officers were killed and 12 police officers were wounded. Shooters fled the scene in a white car.
In a written statement made by the Russian Interior Ministry, it was stated that "Around 18.00 (TSI), the synagogue and church in Derbent were attacked. According to the latest information from the attacks, 6 policemen lost their lives and 12 policemen were wounded."
After the clash, a fire broke out in the synagogue, which the fire brigades intervened. A team including regional police and members of the investigation committee formed a crisis center.
Experts were sent to the region by the Russian Investigative Committee to assess the situation and the origin of the attack.
